One: System Design & Engineering
Number one is not just the first, but also the most critical phase. A close examination of use cases; careful definition of requirements and feasibility; cost modeling and bill of materials, and well-thought out system architecture all contribute to the success of future stages. By collaborating with the experts at Connected Development during this phase, customers can avoid surprises down the road by developing a blueprint that clearly answers the “What, how and when?”
Two: Design & Development
Now that you’ve defined the project with care, it’s time to roll up our sleeves for some heavy lifting. During this phase hardware is designed and laid out, software is developed and implemented, PCB board spins are done, and integration with back end cloud services and applications is completed. This phase often includes interim test and refinement cycles to ensure overall quality, manufacturability and preparedness to pass phase three with flying colors.
Three: Test & Certification
Designing with the objective to certify to specific performance standards is a philosophy that is embraced throughout the project. Testing in general happens early and often. Depending on what is agreed upon in the System Design phase, the testing can range from hardware, software and use case test all the way through system and environmental test. When it comes time to enter into certification the device should go through a thorough RF pre-test campaign so you can be assured that you will pass the first time, as certification re-tries can be expensive and time consuming.
Four: Hand Off
If you can’t build it, your customers can’t buy it. That’s why Connected Development remains engaged to facilitate the hand off to manufacturing and production.
